At Sea Day

Day #6- Saturday

Cruise Day #2 - At Sea Day

During the night our ship past through the English Channel, past Cherbourg in France, Guernsy and Jersey Islands and down the French coast towards the Northwest tip of Spain. There was a steady swell as we entered the open ocean but the ship handled it well.

After getting ready we headed for breakfast with our "Cruise Compass" to plan our day. This nightly newsletter explains everything that is going on during each day, what time and where to go to partake in it. Bingo, Blackjack Tournament, Mini golf, Wall Climbing etc.. We also had an invite to the Cruise Critic's meet and greet party at Jesters on deck 3. We joined up with about 30 other passengers and enjoyed snacks and refreshments while our Cruise Entertainment man of many talents Mr Cuddy. had us all mingling in no time. We stayed after and chatted with another couple that had done numerous Med cruises so we plied them with questions about where to go and what to do at our numerous stops along the way. The information was excellent and it helped us plan both where and what to do at each stop.

We went by the excursion desk and booked a few for various upcoming ports then we headed to the Schooner Lounge for a trivia contest. We arrived late but had a cool drink and tried our best to answer the questions. Many Q's were based on British locations and other stuff so we failed miserably :-)

A quick visit to the casino to watch the Blackjack Tournament then off to the Cafe Promenade for some snacks.  We retired back to the room for a kip before getting ready for dinner. This is one of several formal nights so we busted out the finery in preparation for the fashion show:-)

We sat with two nice couples and had a lovely dinner together. Lots of conversation about cruises and cruise lines. After dinner a stroll through the ship's promenade and watched the  Captain's Welcome Aboard Celebration.

Next up was the main show in the Lyric Theater and it was very impressive. A one woman musical featuring Louise Dearman. Wow this gal can sing!

We called it a day and headed to the rack exhausted. Another sea day tomorrow as we sail past the northwest tip of Spain and the coast of Portugal.
