Another day at sea.

Day #7

Cruise Day #3  - At Sea

The clocks changed ahead last night so we lost an hours sleep :-) Once up we went for a walk around Deck 4 which allows you to circumnavigate the ship outside. Three laps later we headed to the Cafe Promenade for a cup of coffee before heading up for our breakfast.

We attended the talk on several upcoming ports to help us get the lay of the land and confirm what we had been told by fellow cruisers we've met.

A late lunch in the Windjammer was followed by the Blackjack Tournament at the Casino. I bought in for $20 and was given $500 in play chips. We went seven hands and the top seven players after all rounds, went to the final table. Low and behold I tied for second and made it into the "Final Table".... it was short lived as I ended up in 5th place... not bad for my very first tournament. It was a lot of fun and well worth the $20 buy in.... As Arnold would say "I'll be back!" :-)

Our next agenda item was a "quiz game" at the Schooner Lounge that we enjoyed... sadly we only had 5 of 15 correct. It was entertaining even though we discovered we suck at "famous lines in movies or TV shows". :-) Had it been based on chick flicks Kelly would have won!

We made an appointment with the Crown & Anchor folks and booked a couple more "open" cruises (these are only available on-board.)  This allows us flexibility in booking our next cruise(s) and gives us additional incentive credits as well. They never expire so we hope to do a Panama trip in 2016 once those particular cruises are published. (around Feb/March of 2015)

Next was the returning cruisers meet & greet with the staff. We enjoyed free beverages as they entertained us with music and of course some promotional information on the fleet and the Quantum and Anthems upcoming maiden voyages.... tickets still available :-)

Dinner again in the main dinning room and we enjoyed catching up with our table mates. Seems everyone had a great day so far! We all headed to the Lyric Theater to catch the music group called "Fourever". These four great singers put on a fabulous show much like Il'Divo. Standing Ovation!!

We stuck around the theater and then watched the comedian Andy Wilkins put on a gutbuster show. I laughed so hard I think I dislocated a rib! If you every get a chance to see and hear these two acts just do it!

Off to bed in anticipation of our day in Gibraltar tomorrow.  We arrive at noon and head up to the top for a look see. Mind the monkeys we are told... they are excellent pick pockets!

**** Just a note... We like publishing these blogs for two reasons.... 1) So friends and family can follow along on our adventure and 2) So we have a digital record of what we did, where we went etc. that we can look back on years from now.... like this one http://bigtripjournal2013.blogspot.ca/
